Make apps for the X3

eOctavo apps are small Lua scripts. Write one here, run it on a simulated X3 right in your browser, then copy it onto your SD card or send it to the Store.

Simulator

Runs an app the way the X3 does: the same Lua 5.4, sandbox, limits and screen layout. Fonts are close to the X3's but not exact, so check tight layouts on a device. Everything stays in your browser; nothing you write is uploaded.

Keys: arrows, Enter = OK, Esc or Backspace = BACK.

Code

The open app's script. Change it and press Run (or Ctrl+Enter) to restart the app with your version. print() output shows in the log.

Put it on your X3

  1. Download your .lua (and its .art, if it has one).
  2. Copy them into the apps folder on the X3's SD card.
  3. Go back to the home screen: the app appears in the folder named by its --!category line.

Happy with it? Send it to the Store so every X3 can install it.
